Planning for present and future needs of College Hill residents has always guided our efforts. As the oldest public housing community in Chattanooga, it’s critical to pay respect to its history while laying a foundation for the future.
The Choice Neighborhoods Implementation (CNI) One Westside project is on track to meet its overall objectives.
As of December 31, 2024, a total of 271 originals target households (73.4%) have enrolled in case management services. Since the CNI award on July 16, 2024, College Hill Courts residents participated in two One Westside resident meetings organized by the Chattanooga Housing Authority, two resident meetings organized by Urban Strategies, Inc. (USI), and monthly Resident Council meetings.
As of January 6, 2025, USI has hired a Family Support Specialist Manager and three Family Support Specialists. Recruitment is ongoing to fill the remaining positions supporting the One Westside community. During this reporting period, one College Hill Courts resident secured employment at Novonix, a sustainable energy company providing battery industry solutions, located within the One Westside footprint at the Bend development.
USI has scheduled a Service Provider Network meeting in February 2025 and a resident meeting in March to connect residents with resources.
The CHA and USI each have dedicated PR personnel that will collaborate to create and distribute media content across various platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and the CHA One Westside website. USI will connect College Hill residents to the most up-to-date social media pages and the newly created One Westside website once it is completed. This coordinated effort will ensure that residents receive updates directly from these platforms, keeping them informed about progress and important news related to the project.
