The Chattanooga Area Food Bank recognizes the inequities that can create and perpetuate poverty and hunger and is committed to eliminating hunger while better serving communities disproportionately affected. One in six families in the Greater Chattanooga area suffers from food insecurity, and the Chattanooga Area Food Bank works with partners, volunteers, and donors to help alleviate this need.

They have been working with One Westside to offer monthly food distribution to residents at College Hill Courts. On the third Tuesday of every month, they graciously provide the One Westside team with a variety of fresh vegetables and fruit, canned goods, cereals, and more so that the team can distribute it to residents. The aim of this collaboration is to prevent food insecurity and provide nourishing food to our residents.
In addition to their collaboration with One Westside, the Chattanooga Area Food Bank offers several other programs, including the Foxwood Food Center, a grocery store–style food pantry where visitors can receive pantry staples and shop for food every 30 days. They also organize distributions at other organizations such as schools, community centers, and churches; provide food to local pantries and seedlings to community gardens; and offer snack packs and summer meals to children.
